The Elder Scrolls VI in a Playable State as an “Early Build” Confirms Bethesda

While Xbox boss Phil Spencer has mentioned before that The Elder Scrolls VI is more than five years away from being released, it seems the game is, at the very least, in a playable state currently.

This was confirmed by Bethesda in a new message to the franchise’s fans to mark The Elder Scrolls franchise’s 30th anniversary!

While Bethesda talks about the various games in the franchise, the studio also acknowledged the development of The Elder Scrolls VI stating that “Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds has us filled with the same joy, excitement, and promise of adventure.”

Aside from that tidbit, Bethesda also mentioned how they have a The Elder Scrolls game in the works for mobile. “The Elder Scrolls: Castles” is a castle builder where players can control their own dynasty and has even soft launched in select countries.

While players are eagerly awaiting the sixth major entry in the franchise, there’s The Elder Scrolls Online available now, which is heavily supported. For those who’d rather play a more narrative-driven game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still getting updates as well, with the last significant one focusing on mods.

If Spencer’s statement is on-point, we have about four more years (and change) before we get to lay our mitts on franchise’s latest entry. Let’s hope the actual news about its development is shared more before then.
