MW3 Xbox 360 Elite DLC Download Problem to Be Fixed April 18th, Compensation to Follow

Some Modern Warfare 3 owners, with new premium Elite subscriptions, on Xbox 360 have been having problems downloading the latest two Elite drops, Sanctuary and Foundation, since they released on April 10th. Fortunately, this is coming to an end tomorrow.

This month’s Elite drops were accompanied by title update 13 for Xbox 360 adding support for the DLC among other changes. The patch caused issues for new Elite premium members according to Beachhead studios. Beachhead explained last week, “this is a known issue for new Call of duty Elite users. It’s due to a recent Infinity Ward MW3 TU [title update #13], and they’re working on a fix now.” You can read the full patch notes for TU 13 here.

Yesterday, Infinity Ward received word from Microsoft that “the Elite fix will go live Wednesday [April 18th] at 2am PDT [5am EDT] on Xbox LIVE.” Further, Beachhead promised affected players compensation after the fix. The developers stated on Twitter, “we’re working to resolve the DLC download issue affecting some new premium members. Compensation will be provided following a fix.

It’s still unknown how Beachhead is planning on compensating new premium members for the mishap. We expect an extension in Elite duration for those affected. We’ll update this story as soon as we get an official word, and we’ll be sure to let you know on Twitter and Facebook.
