Rumor – MW2’s Terminal Coming to Modern Warfare 3 – MOAB, Super8, and More Leaked

Several leaks give us a glimpse into what the team  behind Modern Warfare 3 has in store for us in the coming months.

Well before the official announcement of Modern Warfare 3’s DLC plans for the month May, a user on the se7ensins forums, iHc James, outed the names of 12 upcoming DLC drops for Modern Warfare 3. At the time, we unable to verify the leak as iHc James didn’t publish any proof supporting his claim.

However,  six out of the seven leaked DLC names posted on May 4th were recently officially announced on May 9th. Only Face Off map, Lookout, is not listed below:

Spec Ops:

  • Iron Clad
  • Kill Switch
  • Terminal

Multiplayer:

  • Aground
  • Erosion
  • Getaway
  • Oasis
  • MOAB
  • Boardwalk
  • Nola
  • Theater
  • Super8

Terminal has popped up again after Reddit users DainBramage77 and DsmvwldCmmntr examined the latest PC patch, which was released along with Collection 1.

Here are their findings regarding Terminal:

Interestingly, one of the most popular maps in Modern Warfare 2, Terminal, is listed under the Spec Ops section according to the first leak. As you may remember, Infinity Ward recently assured that all paid DLC coming to Modern Warfare 3 will not include old maps from MW2 or CoD4. This leaves us with two potential theories. Either Terminal has been re-made for Spec Ops, or will be released as a free map to all players.

In terms of the other DLC names, MOAB, Boardwalk, Nola, Theater, and Super8, these might be the internal code names, as Black Box was called at one point, Morning Wood.

The recently previewed May DLC drops have the following loading screens code names:

Oasis Loading Screen (code name Qadeem)
Lookout Loading Screen (code name RestRepo)
Gateway Loading Screen (code name Hillside)
Erosion Loading Screen (code name Courtyard)

Modern Warfare 3 is expected to receive the following in upcoming months (dates for Xbox 360, add one month for PS3):

  • May: Already announced
  • June: 1 Map, 1 Mission, 1 Classified piece of DLC
  • July: 2 Maps
  • August: 1 Map, 1 Mission, 1 Classified piece of DLC
  • September: 1 Map, 1 Mission
