The de Rune siblings’ story seems to have touched many hearts across the world, as Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment have announced that over a million players took up Amicia’s sling and crossbow during A Plague Tale Requiem‘s launch week. Check out the celebratory accolades trailer, featuring some of the game’s most iconic moments interspersed with rave reviews:

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence set in 14th-century France during the Hundred Years War. Requiem follows the de Rune family, along with their alchemist ally Lucas, as they travel from their Guyenne home to Provence seeking a cure for Hugo’s insidious “Prima Macula” curse. The game improves over the combat mechanics of its predecessor, adding a powerful crossbow that allows Amicia to take on otherwise-insurmountable foes. Players now have even greater strategic variety to approach levels with, and both violent and pacifist gameplay improves different parts of Amicia’s skillset.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch Cloud, and can also be played through Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release on the service. If you’re wondering whether or not to pick it up, our review of the game, where we found it “better in seemingly every way than Innocence,” might make that decision easier for you.
