PSVR2 Teardown Video Reveals All of the Device’s Components and Hardware

psvr2 teardown video

The PlayStation VR2 is just a week away from launching, and a new official video was just released that gives us a closer look at what makes the headset work. A PSVR2 headset teardown video showcases all the components found inside the VR headset, with lots of small parts that work together to deliver a modern VR experience.

PlayStation released not one, but two teardown videos; one for the headset itself and one for the Sense Controllers. The headset teardown video was hosted by Araki Takamasa, head designer of the PSVR headset.

A second video dedicated to the Sense Controllers was hosted by the designer of the same devices, Igarashi Takeshi. He was also responsible for designing the DualSense Wireless Controller.

These videos showcase the difficulty that comes with designing VR headsets and related technologies. For example, the headset now incorporates a fan that not only cools the device itself but also the wearer, preventing the space inside the headset from feeling stuffy. It seems that they’ve also listened to feedback regarding the original PSVR, with a new flexible headband that’s softer on the sides than the first VR device.

The PSVR2 is set to launch officially on February 22.
