The Blood of Dawnwalker: Players Can Drastically Reduce Game’s Runtime by Going for the Final Boss After Prologue

Just a few weeks ago, we reported that The Blood of Dawnwalker’s campaign will take 55 to 70 hours to complete. For those who think that’s a bit too long, there is a way to drastically reduce the game’s length –provided you’re skilled enough.

It seems Rebel Wolves’ open-world design of Dawnwalker really is open-world, and provides a ton more freedom than other games in the genre.

How much freedom, you might ask? Well, enough that players can literally go for the final part of the game after the RPG’s prologue.

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s Final Boss Is Accessible Right From the Start

In an interview, Lead Quest Designer Rafał Jankowski confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will allow players to go after the game’s big baddie, Brencis, the moment the prologue is done. Of course, succeeding in killing the main villain is a different point altogether.

When asked whether it’s possible for players to cut corners by assaulting Brencis’ castle immediately, Jankowski answered, “Yes, very much so,” and added, “It is possible to miss a lot of content. After the Prologue, there is nothing stopping you from going straight to Brencis’ castle and trying to defeat the big bad vampire and his vampire officers. It is difficult, of course, but it is physically possible – the content is there waiting for the players. The enemies are there waiting for the players. It is absolutely possible to skip everything, like all these quests.”

Jankowski emphasized that this would be possible if the player is skilled enough.”If you are skilled enough… I don’t know, I didn’t personally try it, I’m not exactly sure how difficult that is. But the idea was to make it difficult enough for this not to be a path that we encourage the players to do on their first try. But we are hoping to see this done soon after the release of the game, because with many players out there, many of them are probably skilled enough or patient enough to try and do it. But it is possible.”

Needless to say, finishing the game after the prologue will mean that the player will miss out on a lot of the game’s side quests, world-building elements, story beats, progression, and more. Don’t forget, in Dawnwalker, side quests will impact the main story, so there is an advantage to doing these outside of just leveling up your character.

Will players be able to do this? I am sure there is someone out there skilled enough to do it, and that would be a sight to behold.

Expect to see this extraordinary feat come to fruition soon once the game’s released on September 3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
