Marathon Down May 22

For the second time this week, Bungie is taking down the Marathon servers offline, and this is for background maintenance. While there is a chance players won’t be affected at all, the developers have given the disclaimer that game services might be impacted on May 22.

Compared to past server outages, this one for today starts at a much later time. We are also not expecting a game update to be released alongside it, though things can change.

Marathon Down on May 22 and It’s the Second Time This Week

Marathon Mid-Season Update 1.012

Bungie has said the Marathon downtime for Marathon starts at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT/1 am HKT and is expected to last until 1 pm PDT/4 pm EDT/4 am HKT.

While it is background maintenance, there is a chance that the game’s servers will be impacted.

As far as we’re aware, there are no plans for an update to be released. If that changes, or if the downtime schedule is extended, expect the article to be updated.

In other related news, it’s a sad day to be a Bungie fan. Not only is Destiny 2 getting its last live-service content update this June, but a new report has surfaced stating that Destiny 3 is not even in active development, and that significant layoffs are expected at the studio.

Here’s to hoping Marathon gains more traction in the coming weeks and months. Season 2 starts on June 2, and it promises a new map, faster progression and more.
