Embracer Group is moving forward with a new strategy after confirming that the company will split into two separate parts. One of these divisions will focus on major franchises like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Tomb Raider, and The Lord of the Rings.

At the same time, the company is also looking at possible returns for smaller series such as Legacy of Kain, Thief, Saints Row, and Red Faction. Even so, the biggest attention will remain on its most successful franchises.

One of the studios leading this future plan is Warhorse Studios, the Czech team behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The studio is currently working on a new game in the series, while also developing a new RPG set in Middle-earth.

New Kingdom Come: Deliverance Game Is Closer Than Expected

According to information shared by Warhorse Studios communications director Sir Tobi during a community stream on YouTube, fans “don’t have to wait seven years for another Kingdom Come.”

During the stream, he explained that Prokop Jirsa, lead designer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is now the project leader for the new game in the series. However, it’s still not confirmed whether the game will be Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 or a spin-off connected to the series.

The new game is currently planned for the next fiscal year, which runs between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028. This means players could see the next Kingdom Come: Deliverance release in less than two years, a much shorter wait compared to the seven years between the first and second games.

Sir Tobi also spoke briefly about the new Lord of the Rings RPG set in Middle-earth. He confirmed that Viktor Bocan, design director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, is leading that project as well.

For now, Warhorse Studios is keeping many details about these projects secret, but as more information becomes available, we’ll make sure to let you guys know here at MP1st.

In other news, the creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance mocked Ubisoft, saying the company could make 10 games like KCD2 every year with its huge workforce.
