No Man’s Sky Update 6.42/6.042 Released on May 29 as The Swarm Hotfix
As expected, Hello Games has released a hotfix for The Swarm content for No Man’s Sky. This is officially the second hotfix released since The Swarm content was released, and should show up to gamers as No Man’s Sky update 6.42/06.042.
Today’s patgch resolves gamertag issues, though there was an earlier hotfix released this week that also addressed other issues.

- Fixed an issue that could cause player characters to have incorrect colour customisation during The Swarm expedition.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when joining a multiplayer session.
Outside of the fixes, there are still a handful of bugs that the game is suffering from and we’ve listed some below straight from the community.
No Man’s Sky Known Issues as of May 29, 2026
- On the Expedition, I’m having issues with the Spawn Debris Missions where the progress counter is reseting, e.g. when I’ve have cleared 3/4 when I get to the next one I’m back at 0/4. Its happen twice so far.
- PS5 Expedition – Emperor of Glass’s objective will not proceed because the Atlas is in an Outlaw system, and the Outlaw tutorials and Bounties are blocking the mission from staying active. There is a workaround: I went to the anomaly, and visited a featured base. This gave me the option to reset the mission and it pointed me to a new Atlas station system. This one was non-outlaw, and the mission proceeded properly.
- Corvette is still buggy. The tech order get randomized after swapping ship
