Destiny 2 Down on July 28 to Usher Patch 9.7.0.4

Bungie has taken the Destiny 2 servers offline and down on July 28, and this is in order to release a new title update across all platforms.

Guardians who are seeing login errors, it’s not just you, as this downtime essentially makes the game unplayable in all aspects.

Update: Oddly enough, Bungie has not released a proper changelog, but we’ve written up what we know about today’s game update.

Tuesday, July 28, 2026 — Update 9.7.0.4

6:00 AM PDT	UTC -7	Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance. Sign-on and game integration features will be unavailable on web, mobile, third-party apps, and the Bungie Store. Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
8:30AM PDT	UTC -7	Destiny 2 and all APIs will be brought offline for expected maintenance. Players will be removed from activities. Destiny 1 may be impacted.
~10:00 AM PDT	UTC -7	The latest Destiny 2 update will be available across all platforms and regions. Players will be able to log back into Destiny 2. Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing. The Destiny 2 API will be brought online. Clan features may remain offline until maintenance is complete.
~11:00 AM PDT	UTC -7	Destiny maintenance is expected to conclude. Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update. Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
