Game Pirates Call Truce on Control Resonant; Buys Game as Sign of Respect for Remedy
Like it or not, piracy, when it comes to games, movies, and other forms of entertainment, will always be a thing.
No game is immune to this, and no developer is either, but sometimes, there seems to be an exception.
One game that seems to have gotten this exception is Control Resonant, which seems to have struck a chord in the hearts of gamers — even pirates.
Control Resonant Earns Respect of Game Pirates Who State They’ll Buy It
Over on the PiratedGames subreddit, a thread for Control Resonant has people discussing buying the game rather than pirating it.
The most upvoted comment with 16 awards at the time of this article being posted mentions, “One of the very few games I’m going to be buying, Remedy are on the brink of bankruptcy, this is their make or break title, I love their games and gotta do what I can to keep them afloat :D”
Not only that, but one person commented, “i’m going to buy it,” with another redditor replying with,”You should! Remedy are a creative-lead independent company. If anyone deserves your money they do.
Another community member chimed in, “Also buying this to support Remedy,” with another person replying “Yes, not every game needs to be pirated.”
Not only that, but even snarky responses got downvoted a lot too.
The thread has more comments like that, but you get the gist.
Also of note, this doesn’t mean no one has/is pirating Control Resonant, but it’s rare to see individuals say they are buying the game instead of pirating in a subreddit dedicated to it.
We here at MP1st do not condone piracy of games, given these studios and the people behind them do need money to keep the candles burning.
