Halloween: The Game Hotfix 1.1.1 on October 16 Applies Fixes via Update 1.017
Developer Illfonic has rolled out a new hotfix for Halloween: The Game, and this brings the game to version 1.1.1 across all platforms. This is a significantly smaller patch than what we’ve previously received, which isn’t surprising.
Console gamers will see today’s download as Halloween: The Game update 1.017 | 01.017.000, and it includes the same set of fixes as its PC brethren.
For the complete list of fixes made, read on.
Halloween: The Game New Update Fixes Crashing Issues
The fixes applied today are:
- Fixed a crash that could occur when using Quick Resume on Xbox Series X|S
- Fixed a shader crash that could occur when using Performance Mode on Xbox Series X
- Fixed crashes caused when using DLSS and FSR frame generation
- Fixed a crash that could occur when grabbing
- Fixed crashes caused by certain gameplay interactions.
- Various additional crash fixes
Today’s patch doesn’t address every bug, as there are a handful that’s been plaguing the community, which we’ve included below.
Multiplayer gameplay bugs
- Shape Jump stuck on cooldown: Michael’s ability can become unavailable after certain gameplay interactions.
- Civilians losing movement after a grab: Some players reportedly cannot move after Michael releases them.
- Civilians being executed after escaping a grab: Players could still be executed in public matches despite successfully escaping.
- Residents spawning on rooftops: NPCs reportedly appeared on rooftops where they should not normally be.
Challenges, achievements, and trophies not registering
- Progressive Challenge tracking: Some challenges previously failed to track correctly under certain conditions. Patch 1.1.0 fixed several tracking problems, but not every challenge was individually accounted for in the notes.
- Pumpkin Smasher and Heavy Handed achievements: These were previously reported as not unlocking after completing the required objectives. The patch explicitly fixed the tracking issue for Purely and Simply Evil, but did not explicitly confirm fixes for the other two achievements.
- Reward or progression problems: Players have reported missing character cosmetics after prestiging. I couldn’t verify a confirmed fix for those individual reports
Expect another, bigger patch to be released before the month is done.
