Mass Effect 5 Trailer Surfaces a Day After Project Was Canceled
The footage is said to be from a former BioWare employee who uploaded the trailer on the Mass Effect subreddit using a burner account. While there is no way to verify the authenticity of the footage, it doesn’t seem to be made by AI.\
Titled “Mass Effect Universe,” the footage is about two minutes long, and we see a new protagonist. alongside is who appears to be Liara, the asari party member of Commander Shepard from the original trilogy.
We even see some form of combat, and the footage is even fully voice-acted too.
Watch it and judge for yourself whether this is something you would have played:
As a huge Mass Effect fan, I am all for this, It’s a shame we never got to see this come to life. Is there a chance the IP can be bought by an external company like CD Projekt RED, Sony, Microsoft or someone else? Maybe, but that’s if the new owners of EA are willing to do that.
If you haven’t played it, go give the Mass Effect trilogy a go, and there’s even the Legendary Edition that houses the three games with improvements.
Hopefully, more info about this canceled Mass Effect title surfaces, and who knows? Maybe it’ll generate enough interest that it’ll see the light of day.
Alongside the BioWare closure, EA also confirmed that Respawn and DICE are collaborating on a project, and multiple sources confirm it’s Star Wars Battlefront 3.
