New Map: Spearhead

Spearhead is the first Battlefield map to be set in Sweden. Spearhead is similar in size to Stranded, featuring two semi-automatic manufacturer facilities containing high-tech weaponry and components for weather machines. Rock formations surround these facilities for increased cover and untamed terrain fit for spectacular land and air battles.

New Specialist: Rasheed Zain

Rasheed Zain is an Egyptian-born assault specialist. He served in the Egyptian military, where he was involved in a life-changing accident that resulted in the double amputation of his legs. Now fitted with state-of-the-art prosthetics, he has joined the No-Pat movement, currently stationed at the weapon facility in northern Sweden.

Trait – Master of Recovery – Faster health recharge on kills.

Specialty – XM370A  Airburst Launcher – Flush out enemies behind cover.

New Weapons

Rorsch MK-4 Railgun – This weapon, crafted with cutting-edge technology, uses electromagnetic forces to launch projectiles at preposterous speeds. Offering a versatile underbarrel system capable of multiple firing mode options, this weapon will prove powerful to those who can master its charging times.

NVK-S22 Smart Shotgun – This dual-barreled semi-automatic weapon offers great destructive power in a compact and nimble package. Surprise your enemies and become the dominator of close-quarters combat.

NVK-P126 Pistol – This weapon’s specially manufactured long barrel makes it an ideal semi-automatic sidearm for engaging foes at long distance with high precision.

New Vehicle – EMKV90-TOR

Fueled by cutting edge railgun technology, the EMKV90-TOR is a main battle tank that can shift into two different modes.

Mobility Mode – In this mode, you’ll be able to move swiftly across the landscape to transport you and your passenger, with turrets available for defense.

Siege Mode – The tank comes to a crawl in this mode, with lower suspension for added stability, with quicker turret firing to deal more damage.

Active Threat Detection – Available in both forms, the EMKV90-TOR features a system that detects the source of incoming attacks within a certain range and displays them in your HUD.

New Throwable

Throwing Knife – This season’s gadget is the return of an old favorite. Take enemies out quickly and quietly with these deadly blades.

Reworked Specialists

Changes are coming to Specialists later in Season 3 to move them back to Battlefield’s Class system, and this is due for release in “early 2023.”

In the initial release, you’ll see the move back to the Class system, with needed balancing work, as well as the first set of design changes.

  • Each class will receive Class Equipment and Class Gadget of choice.
  • Weapon proficiencies will become available and provide gameplay benefits for each Class. For example, Recons will immediately be able to hold their breath for a constant steady scope when using sniper rifles.

Specialist-Specific Changes

  • Irish moves to Support, while Crawford moves to Engineer., Irish will take Crawford’s current trait, and so Crawford will receive a new trait geared towards Engineer gameplay.
  • DICE wants Rao to fit better within the Recon class, so to achieve this, we’re improving communication between Rao and squadmates to highlight when targets are vulnerable.
  • Boris’ turret will target vehicles, and priotize them over soldiers.

Expect to see DICE continue to make changes to the class system through Season 4.
