It’s the start of a new year an while there’s no release date set for XDefiant just yet, it seems we’re about to know that soon. Executive Producer Mark Rubin relayed an XDefiant development update and it seems to suggest the upcoming free-to-play shooter will be released soon.
Over on Twitter/X, Rubin touched on some of the issues the team has worked on alongside acknowledging the people who worked during the holidays.

Thea team is getting back into the office this week and we are ready for a great year! We will have some more specific news in the next couple of weeks as we get ready for launch. But the quick update on our progress is: 1) We have addressed the weird issues that were affecting Netcode (see previous update for more info) and we will continue to improve and test our netcode before and after launch, and 2) we’ve implemented the new Party System and are now just putting it through rigorous testing and bug fixings as we get ready for launch.
Given Rubin mentioned “launch” a few times there, it does seem like XDefiant’s release is close to becoming a reality.
We’ve liked what we’ve played of XDefiant so far that we even included it in our top games to look forward to in 2024!
