David Vonderhaar Establishes “BulletFarm” Remote-First AAA Studio With NetEase Games

Following a cryptic tease by former Call of Duty lead David Vonderhaar, NetEase Games has announced “BulletFarm,” a new remote-first AAA studio based in Los Angeles, California.

Vonderhaar, best known for his work with Treyarch on the Call of Duty franchise, is working on an “ambitious AAA game” that’s set in an original universe with an emphasis on co-op gameplay. The unnamed project will be built using Unreal Engine 5, and will “craft a more intimate and relatable experience while offering a fresh take on first-person gameplay.”

The studio is developing a brand new original and ambitious AAA game set in an original universe with an emphasis on co-operative gameplay. Alongside Vonderhaar, the studio also has named Chris Cowell as Creative Director. There are several key roles open, which people can check out on the studio’s official website.

David Vonderhaar announced his departure from Treyarch in August 2023 after working there for 18 years.
