During the Age of Empires 25th anniversary event today, franchise publisher Xbox Game Studios unveiled the Age of Empires 4: Anniversary Edition launch trailer, featuring new civilizations and maps. The corresponding free update for Age of Empires 4 has now gone live.

The Age of Empires 4: Anniversary Edition update kicks off Season 3 of the game and adds a host of new content:

• Two new civilizations, the Ottomans and Malians, along with corresponding Art of War challenges, Masteries and Achievements
• The start of Ranked Season Three, the introduction of Team Ranked and brand new rewards
• Taunts and Cheats
• Eight new Maps and two new biomes
• Naval Balance Rework brings new opportunity to Naval matches
• Waypoint Markers to set unit paths

Age of Empires 4 is available for PC and Xbox Game Pass, and will soon be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming along with Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition in 2023.
