Arknights: Endfield PayPal Glitch Charging Players for Unbought Items, Fix in Progress
Everything seemed ready for a successful launch of Arknights: Endfield, the new gacha game from Gryphline, now available for free on PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
However, neither the developers nor the players expected a serious issue to affect the launch. Fortunately, it seems the problem is already halfway resolved.
Arknights: Endfield Players Charged on PayPal for Items They Never Bought

Like other gacha titles, Arknights: Endfield allows players to make in-game purchases using Gryphline’s top-up center. One of the payment methods available is PayPal, and many users chose it for their transactions.
However, due to an unexpected error, some players began noticing additional charges for items they never purchased. It appears that the issue only affected PayPal transactions, which is at least a small relief for those using other payment options.
On Reddit, one player even reported being charged €1,300, though he was fortunately refunded soon after. Through its official Twitter/X account, the Arknights: Endfield team confirmed the issue, identifying it as a technical error specifically linked to PayPal top-ups within the game. Other payment methods were confirmed to be unaffected.
The developers explained, “Earlier today, we identified an issue with our payment system that affected a small number of purchases made via PayPal by players using the official launcher, as well as PayPal top-ups made through topup.gryphline.com. In these cases, there was an inconsistency between the order and item delivery. The issue only impacted a limited set of orders.”
They also shared a timeline of the events and confirmed that all refunds will be processed within four hours. Gryphline has promised to assist every affected user and will keep PayPal payments disabled until the issue is fully resolved.
