Baldur’s Gate 3 Will be 75-100 Hours in Length; 200 Hours If You Want to Experience “Everything’

Baldur's Gate 3 Update for August 10

Baldur’s Gate 3 is 75 to 100 hours long in length. However, if a player wants to experience “everything,” and not just a standard playthrough, it will take them about 200 hours to beat the game.

In an interview with IGN, Larian Studios head Swen Vincke said:

Between 75 and 100 hours, that’s what we’re seeing. That’s not doing everything, that is just going to be a playthrough. There will be people who will be way over that, the ones who want to do everything. They will probably hit 200 hours, I think. On average we’re seeing people who are going through take about 75 to 100 hours.

Vinvke says that it will be similar to Divinity: Original Sin 2, where people have multiple playstyles and ways to beat the game. He adds that people who play the multiplayer mode will “take a year, a year-and-a-half.”

Moreover, the CEO adds that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have a lot of replayability as the game there are so “so many ways to do things.” He adds:

We have this insane amount of classes, sub-classes, races, sub-races. This is not a small game you’re going to be done with in a month. You will be playing it in bits and chunks. Maybe you will drop in with a friend in multiplayer – we have drop-in / drop-out multiplayer also. There are so many ways of playing it. We saw with [Divinity: Original Sin 2] also, people played it for years. There are still quite a lot of people playing DOS2, still discovering new things that are in there. This one is significantly bigger, with significantly more layers of depth to it also.

Recently, Baldur’s Gate 3 release was bumped up on PC by almost a month, with the game now launching on August 3 instead of the initial August 31 release date. However, the PS5 version of the game got delayed on the same day to September 6.
