As part of the class system rework announced last November, DICE has unveiled the new Battlefield 2042 class overview featuring gadget, weapon proficiency and equipment details for the four new classes. The new class system will go live next week with the release of Update 3.2.

As part of the transition to a more traditional class system, Battlefield 2042’s diverse roster of Specialists will be classified into Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. The class overview reveals the full equipment of the new classes:
Assault:
- Class Equipment: Med Pen
- Weapon Proficiency: Three extra magazines for assault rifles
- Class Gadgets: C5 Explosive, IBA Armor Plate, M18 Claymore, Smoke Launcher
Engineer:
- Class Equipment: Repair Tool
- Weapon Proficiency: Improved accuracy while crouched or prone with LMGs
- Class Gadgets: AT Mine, C5 Explosive, EOD Bot, FXM-33 AA, FM-148 Javelin, Recoilless M5
Support:
- Class Equipment: Defibrillator
- Weapon Proficiency: Faster draw time with SMGs
- Class Gadgets: Ammo Crate, Health Crate, M18 Claymore, Smoke Launcher
Recon:
- Class Equipment: Insertion Beacon
- Weapon Proficiency: Immediate and constant steady scope with sniper rifles
- Class Gadgets: C5 Explosive, M18 Claymore, Prox Sensor, Soflam, Tracer Dart, T-UGS
The new class system will go live with the release of Update 3.2, set to release during the next week.
