Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon Announced, Slated for March 17 Release

Bayonetta Origins Cereza and the Lost Demon

The Bayonetta franchise is adding another entry to its list next year. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is a spinoff game that delves into the past and was announced during The Game Awards 2022.

Check out the trailer for it straight from Nintendo’s press email.

Turn back the pages of the Umbra Witch’s story to learn where it all began. Take control of Cereza and her first demon Cheshire to fend off faeries and solve puzzles when Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon releases March 17, 2023 only on Nintendo Switch.

Like Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta Origins will be a Switch-only exclusive. The game is currently available for preorder on the Nintendo eShop, allowing you to download the game as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, here’s a brief synopsis of the game:

In Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, players take on the role of Cereza, a young apprentice witch, and start a fateful journey into a forbidden forest to gain the power to save her mother. In addition to sporting a striking and distinct storybook-inspired art style of its own, this new title also features gameplay never before seen in the Bayonetta series. Controlling both Cereza and her infernal demon partner, Cheshire, players will focus on exploration, combat and puzzle solving to help Cereza go deeper into the forest.

While gameplay may feel very different from mainline Bayonetta games, fans of the series’ lore may enjoy the more whimsical aesthetic and beautiful artwork of this upcoming title.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon will release on the Nintendo Switch on March 17 next year.
