In what’s probably the worst kept video game secret of the year so far, Activision has finally confirmed and announced Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII! Yes, it’s really written that way. No, don’t ask us why. What’s more, the publisher has announced the Black Ops 4 release date is set for October 12 (Friday) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!
Longtime fans will notice that it’s not set for release in the first week of November, as has been the franchise’s schedule in years past.
Activision has announced that this year’s Call of Duty game will officially be revealed on May 17 by developer Treyarch, with earlier leaks stating that it’ll focus on boots-on-the-ground gameplay. There’s a Twitch stream of the logo unveiling that went live just now, that showed a rather lenghty video of someone cutting the metal to show “IIII” which is the game’s logo.
The official Call of Duty Twitter also released a short video teasing the game as well.
Forget what you know.
