Possibly one of the most least appreciated (depending on who you ask) things to come out of the last few Call of Duty titles have been the Specialists and their abilities. Thankfully, that won’t be the case, as Modern Warfare Specialists won’t be an issue!
Just the other day, we posted the different editions that Activision will roll out for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and in it, “Operators” are mentioned, and Activision describes these Operators as “rather than special abilities that affect gameplay,” these Operators will instead have their own backstory, nationality, character dialogue, character skins, and cosmetic customization options.
Here’s how Operators will look in the game:
For those not familiar with how Specialists are, these are characters in multiplayer that have specific abilities that range from support to lethal ones, and usually can alter a gunfight, or even a match, and this is why a lot of old school Call of Duty players are not a fan of this gameplay feature. Heck, it’s gotten so bad that we even wrote a feature about it.
This is good news, right? Will you miss Specialists in Modern Warfare or are you happy to see them gone and have the multiplayer instead focus on tactics, and actual gunplay?
