Cancelled Modern Warfare Zombie Mode Revealed

Long before the release of 2019’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare, rumors had been surfacing, indicating that the title would in fact feature some sort of zombie mode. While this rumor didn’t come to fruition, it would seem that they were all but true as an ex-Infinity Ward artist has come out to provide the first look at the canceled Call of Duty Modern Warfare Zombie mode.

Over on Instagram, ex-Infinity Ward Principal Artist, Aaron Beck posted a series of concept images, which you can find below.

Here’s what Aaron had to say about the pieces:

Finally got clearance to share more art from Modern Warfare! So to begin here’s an unused concept from early in production. I was thinking it would be fun to play with the classic Call of Duty zombie gameplay, hinting here at some sort of Russian special forces soldier and his duo of quadruped robots, holding captive zombified soldiers by leashes around their necks.

Don’t expect a Modern Warfare Zombie mode to release anything, if at all as the company is currently focusing on other content. Plus, it is speculated that the mode will make a return in this year’s Call of Duty, rumored to be called Call of Duty: Black ops Cold War. With Treyarch helming the project, chances are more than likely we will see zombies in some form.
