Cancelled The Last of Us Online Menu Image Surfaces

The Last of Us Online Menu

Just yesterday, Naughty Dog shocked gamers by announcing that The Last of Us Online, a game focused on multiplayer, was officially cancelled. While it’s doubtful we’ll see gameplay of it, we do have a The Last of Us Online menu image to pore over.

This image was leaked by known insider DuskGolem over on the ResetEra forums. While the image doesn’t show gameplay, we do see that a Battle Pass was part of the plan, with seasonal challenges and content planned, as is the norm in most multiplayer games these days.

Maybe we’ll see actual gameplay or more info about it surface at some point? Given how Naughty Dog keeps most of these things close to the chest, I doubt that.

While The Last of Us Online is no more, there’s still The Last of Us Part II Remastered set for release early next year, with the big draw here is the “No Return” roguelike mode, which you can watch in action here.

And if something like this leaks, you KNOW its because a studio is perfectly happy and nobody came in and ruined their day. THANKS BUNGIE FOR YOUR PATHETIC INPUT.

Think of the world and tone of the TLOU universe and how dire it is. And then Bungie sticks their nose in and says, “you need to figure out a way to have stupid moronic emotes and thousands of stupid world immersion breaking outfits and accessories and battlepasses etc…

I have never been happier to see something cancelled. Now if only the devs could get their time back that they wasted on this trash. I’m sure Jim Ryan’s Christmas bonus will make them feel better.

I don’t think bungie stuck their nose in and said to add that stuff, I think Sony started that with their big push for GaaS, bungie was supposed to come in and offer ideas to make it better
