Following yesterday’s news that CD Projekt RED has been hacked, with the cyber attackers demanding a ransom or private, internal files will be leaked online, it looks like the unnamed CD Projekt RED hackers stayed true to their word. With the announcement, CD Projekt RED confirmed that they will not be negotiating or offering any sort of exchange for the data stolen.
It looks like the CD Projekt RED hacker(s) weren’t bluffing, as it looks like the alleged Gwent source code has been leaked online, and the hackers are now auctioning off the source code for Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher and more for a whopping $1,000,000! This was revealed by malware aggregator vx-underground:
Update: a mistake was made. They stated starting bid $1kk. This was assumed as a typo for $1,000. They meant $1,000,000. They are also selling immediately for $7,000,000.

What’s more, the alleged source code for Gwent was uploaded to 4chan earlier today as well before it was pulled. While we did see it uploaded on the site, we were hesitant in downloading it (for obvious reasons).
Will anyone bite at getting the source codes for the games at $7 million dollars? We’ve reached out to CD Projekt RED for a statement and will update the post if we hear anything back.. We’re trying to dig further into this to know more about its legitimacy.
