Chivalry 2 Now “Feature Complete” and Content Support Has Ended, Devs Focusing on New Multiplayer Projects
Released in 2021, medieval multiplayer game Chivalry 2’s content support has ended, with the last content update “Regicide” released back in May. This was confirmed by developer Torn Banner Studios who states that the game is now “content and feature complete.”
As the game’s 11th and final content piece, released in May, the Regicide Update revealed to players the narrative conclusion of Chivalry 2’s war between Argon II and Malric. This update included one of our proudest creations to date, the cinematic Team Objective map “Citadel” – which pits the two kings against each other for a final duel that makes a fitting end to an epic saga.
With the Regicide Update we consider the game to be content and feature complete.
However, the studio confirms this isn’t the end of the Chivalry franchise’s journey, as Torn Banner confirms they are working on a new co-op project titled “No More Room in Hell 2” and something in the Chivalry 2 universe (which we’re assuming is Chivalry 3). The studio adds they’ve been building their team up to take on these challenges to ensure that when the next Chivalry title is released, it will “utterly blow players away.”
While the game won’t be getting any new content, that doesn’t mean support is ending. Torn Banner confirmed that the game will continue to be supported for maintenance and for any critical issues affecting the player base. Speaking of which, a new patch was released just yesterday to fix some nagging issues.
For those worried about the game’s online component, expect the game’s servers (official and unofficial), matchmaking and the like to work as intended.
While Chivalry 3 hasn’t officially been announced yet, Torn Banner is now working on No More Room in Hell 2, which the official game description from Steam reads as: “No More Room in Hell 2 is a terrifying 8 player co-op action horror experience. Find your friends in the dark and survive – in a dynamic, endlessly replayable zombie apocalypse.”
No More Room in Hell 2 has no release date set just yet.
