Lords of the Fallen was released nearly two years ago, and while the game had a very rough launch, many believed it was released with numerous technical issues and felt unfinished at launch.

Not only did the game receive considerable criticism from fans, but many also abandoned it and moved on to other great games released over the years. However, the developers didn’t stop believing in the title and released one update after another, which not only significantly improved the game but also added new features and content all for free.

While that is good news for players of the game, it seems more drama surrounding the franchise has come to light.

CI Games CEO Goes on Offensive Against Former Devs’ Narrative

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.071

After numerous patches, what we assume was the last major update was released in April as the “Master of Fate – Version 2.0,” which overhauled everything for the game. Since then, the studio has pushed numerous patches to squash bugs, improve the experience, and more. However, it seems all is not well at developer HexWorks and its parent company, CI Games.

Marek Tyminski, the CEO of CI Games, recently went on the offensive, criticizing former developer Saul Gascon Barba for allegedly lying “for likes,” even claiming that they wanted to end the support for the title last year.

This was prompted by Barba’s post on LinkedIn discussing the success of Lords of the Fallen following version 2.0.

Tyminski responded to Barba, and said the developer opposed the decision to continue supporting the title after its disastrous launch. “You should’ve stayed silent. Your choices would’ve killed game support in May 2024, costing our studio big. We pushed to 2.0’s success despite you. Best in your next chapter.”

He also replied to a tweet, claiming the former developer, now praising the title, had previously wanted to end support, adding, “He wanted to completely stop supporting Lords in May 2024. Lies for likes.”

The CEO believes that the developer is only doing it for the likes, as they weren’t passionate about Lords of the Fallen before the recent update. The developer recently left CI Games after working there for five years and is now part of Expedition Games.
