Cyberpunk 2077 Steam Concurrent Player Count See’s a Resurgence, Surpasses The Witcher 3’s

Cyberpunk 2077 Steam Concurrent Player Count

While CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 launched with a lot of fanfare, it wasn’t exactly the kind the studio wanted. To put it bluntly, it didn’t fare critically as the studio (and even fans) had hoped, and mostly due to the numerous bugs the game suffered through at release. Well, it seems the countless patches have worked their magic, as the Cyberpunk 2077 Steam concurrent player count has bounced back in a big way!

Since the release of patch 1.6 this month, coupled with the launch of the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners anime on Netflix, the Cyberpunk 2077 concurrent player count has steadily risen (at least on PC), and it’s now gotten so high that it has even surpassed that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — a game that many consider to the studio’s crowning achievement.

Here’s a look at the numbers per reliable video game analyst Benjie:

Again, I just want to repeat how big of a deal this is that a game that’s been out for years has managed to bounce back, and even managed to beat the studio’s (arguably) best game in terms of player count. Mind, we aren’t even counting the players on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

This is perfect timing for CDPR, as the studio has a new premium expansion incoming titled “Phantom Liberty” that’s due sometime in 2023 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. If you’re wondering why we didn’t list the PS4 and Xbox One, it’s because patch 1.6 was the last major update for the game for last-gen, and the DLC won’t be available on last-gen platforms as well according to the studio.
