In October 2024, Bohemia Interactive released an all-new expansion for DayZ titled Frostline. While things were off to a rocky start, the studio’s continued effort to address issues and performance seems to be paying off. They’ve revealed that DayZ has managed to break many of its records since the expansion’s release!

With DayZ gaining even more popularity, the studio has reaffirmed its commitment to the title and its players, promising even more for this year.

DayZ Sees Nearly 1 Million Active Players Every Week

Revealed via a press release, Bohemia Interactive has shared some impressive game and player stats for the standalone version of DayZ. They revealed that every week, DayZ sees 938,000 weekly active players and 693,000 daily active players. The studio also confirmed that the game had recently peaked at 79,000 concurrent players on Steam. That’s pretty impressive for a survival game now entering its seventh year on the market as a standalone (Arma DayZ mod came out in 2023) release.

As for DayZ Frostline, the newest expansion for the title, Bohemia Interactive confirmed that as of January 2025, it had sold over 530,000 copies across all platforms!

So, what’s next for the acclaimed zombie survival game? Well, we’ll have to wait and see, but the good news is it won’t be long. A “DayZ in 2025” article is set to be published soon. We expect it will discuss several planned updates and potential content drop teases for this year.

Expect Patch 1.27 to be released on live servers soon, given the Experimental patch is available on PC and Xbox already.
