Delta Force Console Keyboard & Mouse Support Planned, “Major” Performance and Graphics Boost Inbound in Next Seasonal Update
While Team Jade has already mentioned that console-only crossplay is part of the plans to be released for Delta Force, the studio has now confirmed a lot more features players can expect for the free-to-play shooter.
Chief among this is one that many players have requested, and that’s keyboard and mouse support!
This topic, among others, have been discussed by Team Jade, which should be good news for console players.
Delta Force Keyboard & Mouse Support Confirmed to Drop via Future Update
In a Q&A by Team Jade (provided to MP1st by Team Jade via email), game director “Shadow” confirmed that KBM console support is planned, although it will automatically enable crossplay if used.
Q: Will there be native keyboard and mouse support on consoles?
Team Jade answered, “A kind reminder: when using native KBM input, cross-play will be automatically enabled to ensure a fair competitive environment. At the same time, our security team enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against commonly used console adapters (such as XIM MATRIX, Cronus Zen, AIMZENIX, and similar devices) that simulate controllers to use a mouse without enabling cross-play, which will be punished. We will continue to invest heavily in security and anti-cheat measures to create a fair and secure environment for all console players, among all players. For more details on fair play policies and violation penalties on consoles, please refer to our previous announcement:”
Continuing with the controls topic, Team Jade also confirmed that gyro aiming will be added to the console version “next year,” though the studio didn’t specify which month/quarter it’ll be released.
Team Jade also confirmed that controller movement, shooting, and aim assist topics were discussed too.
According to the developers, here are some of the planned movement improvements, and shooting “feel” adjustments planned:
- Movement Improvements: Future updates will introduce full support for analog movement, delivering more natural and optimized control.
- Shooting Feel Adjustments: Shooting performance is currently affected by multiple factors, including latency, frame rate, stick curve settings, and aim assist behavior. We plan to optimize each of these areas in upcoming versions to provide a smoother and more accurate controller experience.
When it comes to aim assist on consoles and how it doesn’t feel smooth, Team Jade said., “In upcoming updates, we will address issues where aim assist may not work as intended and improve its effectiveness at longer ranges, further enhancing shooting performance and overall control feel for players.”
Aside from controller concerns, the shooter is also suffering from poor performance optimization, which is something we mentioned in our Delta Force console review. Thankfully, Team Jade confirmed that this will get a significant improvement soon!
Delta Force Console Performance Will Receive “Major” Optimizations in Next Seasonal Update
With how performance mode on consoles can be unstable in “certain scenes” according to Team Jade, the studio confirmed “major” improvements are planned.
Team Jade mentioned, “Visual quality and performance have always been a key focus for us, as they play an important role in delivering an immersive gaming experience. I can now confirm that Delta Force is set to receive a major performance and graphics boost on consoles with its next seasonal update:”
- Performance mode will run at significantly higher frame rates across all console platforms, including Xbox Series S.
- PlayStation 5 Pro players will gain PSSR support, delivering sharper visuals and greater stability.
There are a lot more improvements planned, though same with the answers above, there’s no timetable for it outside of being implemented in future updates.
Once we know more about these new features, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
In other Delta Force news, Team Jade also addressed allegations by players that Team Jade is “botting” the player count.”
