It looks like Team Jade’s second season of Delta Force is working its magic, as the community seems to have embraced the latest content drop for the free-to-play shooter.

With the launch of Season 2: Starfall, the game has established a new concurrent player high on Steam.

Delta Force Shatters Concurrent Player Number on Steam

According to the ever-reliable Steam Charts, Delta Force’s has reached a concurrent peak of 131, 262. Even after a day, the player base still managed to hit 108,000, which means those who tried Season 2, are sticking around.

To put things in perspective, Delta Force now has a higher concurrent player high on Steam than Battlefield 2042 (107,000) and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (112, 000).  Of course, both those games are premium (read: paid) experiences, but even so, that’s quite an achievement for Team Jade.

Aside from Season 2, the game will soon have a single-player component. The console versions are also scheduled to drop this year, though we haven’t seen anything except one super-short clip.

Will Team Jade manage to maintain this momentum? We sure hope so. While a lot of games manage to skyrocket to the top of the charts, it’s another thing to stay on top of the pile.  These days, there’s a flood of options for players, and sometimes all it takes for the player base to jump ship is one misstep. We expect Delta Force to hit even harder once the console versions are out and crossplay is available in full force.

If you’ve yet to play the game, go read our review where we state, “Delta Force is a pure military shooter, with little to no fluff, and in-depth weapon mechanics that some may enjoy tweaking to their heart’s content.”
