Destiny 2 Down on February 24 for an Extended Period for Patch 9.5.5.3

While Bungie usually conducts server maintenance periods on a Tuesday, it usually lasts for an hour or two at most. This time, that won’t be the case, as the developers have confirmed the Destiny 2 server maintenance planned for February 24 will take longer than normal.

If you or a friend can’t login, this is why, so don’t get alarmed. Expect Destiny 2 to be down for a lot longer today.

Even with the server outage, expect a new update to be rolled out, which is version 9.5.5.3 and will be available on all platforms.

Tuesday, February 24, 2025 — Update 9.5.5.3

5:00 AM PST	-8 UTC	Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance. Sign-on and game integration features will be unavailable on web, mobile, third-party apps, and the Bungie Store. Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
7:00 AM PST	-8 UTC	Destiny 2 and all APIs will be brought offline for expected maintenance. Players will be removed from activities. Destiny 1 may be impacted.
~2:00 PM PST	-8 UTC	The latest Destiny 2 update will be available across all platforms and regions. Players will be able to log back into Destiny 2. Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing. The Destiny 2 API will be brought online. Clan features may remain offline until maintenance is complete.
~3:00 PM PST	-8 UTC	Destiny maintenance is expected to conclude. Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update. Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.

Once the patch is out, expect it here on MP1st. Bear in mind, there is a chance the maintenance might take even longer, and if it does, we’ll let our readers know.
