Diablo 4 Runs at 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X, 1080p/60fps on Series S; No Loading Screens in Open World

Diablo 4 level 100 hardcore

Blizzard Entertainment and Diablo producer Rod Fergusson has now confirmed that the upcoming Diablo 4 can manage 60fps on both the Xbox Series X and Series S, in 4K resolution on the former and 1080p on the latter. Additionally, Fergusson also revealed that the game has no loading screens in its open world sections, though significant transitions such as to a dungeon environment will incorporate loading to some extent.

Diablo 4 is already enjoying significant success through its massive beta sessions in the previous weeks. However, the gaming industry has been plagued by performance issues in new and upcoming titles, with Arkane Austin’s Redfall failing to include a Performance mode on console at launch.

Wisely so then, Fergusson confirmed on the official Xbox podcast that Diablo 4 will be running at 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X and 1080p/60fps on the Series S. He also revealed that despite continuous server changes in the open world of the game due to the presence of other players in a given section, the open world will be entirely seamless. Chances are, this means that the PS4 and PS5 versions will run the same as it Xbox siblings, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement from Blizzard.

Those interested can tune into the recorded Xbox podcast below, where Fergusson detailed numerous aspects of the title’s performance and its usage of the Xbox Series consoles’ hardware capabilties:
