Diablo 4’s Abattoir of Zir Dungeon Promises Challenging Endgame for Season 2

Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir

Feeling that Season 2 of Diablo 4 isn’t challenging enough? Well, that may change soon, as Blizzard has announced a new endgame dungeon, which seems similar to Diablo 3’s Greater Rifts. Here’s everything we know about Diablo 4’s Abattoir of Zir dungeon, set to arrive next month with patch 1.2.3.

Dubbed “Abattoir of Zir” this is a new endgame dungeon event, designed to put players to the test, as they’re extremely challenging, yet are said to offer worthwhile rewards. The way these dungeons work is similar to that of Diablo 3’s Greater Rifts events. You’ll need to complete the Season Journey in order to start the event, as it will reward you with the recipe to craft a Bloodforged Sigil.

There are 25 Bloodforged Sigil tiers to craft, each opening a portal to the Abattoir of Zir Dungeon. Once you’re in, you’ll have to take on hordes of enemies, killing them to fill a progression bar to summon the boss. All this is under a time limit, where if it runs out, you have to start all over again. Here’s a deeper explanation of the dungeon.

Completing the dungeon will unlock a unique Tears of Blood Glyph, which boosts rare nodes within its range and has a cap ten times bigger than normal sigils. But be warned, with every tier increase, so does the difficulty of the dungeon.

But to help prepare players, Blizzard is adding Malignant rings, which bring back five powers from Season of the Malignant. Players may remember these powers being incredibly strong from the last season, which Blizzard notes they will be re-working with a healthy balance for the long run. These are the following Malignant Rings:

  • Ring Of The Sacrilegious Soul
  • Ring of Red Furor
  • Writhing Band of Trickery
  • Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop
  • Airidah’s Inexorable Will

If you are wondering if all of the Malignant powers will eventually make a return, Lead Live Class Designer Adam Jackson said that, at the moment, there are no plans for them all, but will be taking a look at what players love.

Players can look forward to the Malignant Rings in update 1.2.2, which launches on November 7. Abattoir of Zir Dungeon will be available next month, on December 5, alongside patch 1.2.3.
