B.B. Studio and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that 2016’s Digimon World: Next Order will be making its way to PC and Nintendo Switch early next year.

Check out the announcement trailer below:

Digimon franchise video games on PC and Nintendo Switch are few and far between. While this year’s Digimon Survive came to both platforms as well as PS4 and Xbox One, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and its “Hacker’s Memory” follow-up are the only other major, recent titles available on PC and Switch.

For the uninitiated and curious:

Originally released in 2017, Digimon World: Next Order puts players in the shoes of a DigiDestined, tasked with rebuilding the Digital World that has been put under complete chaos.

To help them in this challenge, players will be able to find and recruit among over 200 Digimon that they’ll have to feed, train, and form a bond with.

The town of Floatia will serve as a hub that will be developed by the players as this is where they will be able to recruit Digimon, upgrade buildings, grow crops and develop the city into a sprawling metropolis.

Digimon World: Next Order only saw an initial PS Vita release in 2016, followed by a PS4 release in the subsquent year. It remains to be seen whether that trend will change with the upcoming entry in the series, which has no release date or platform information as of yet.

We’ll keep our readers updated as Digimon World: Next Order nears its February 22, 2023 release on PC and Nintendo Switch.
