Dragon Ball FighterZ Update 1.000.002 Punches Out for Current-Gen

Dragon Ball FighterZ Update 1.000.002

Bandai Namco and Arc System Works have released Dragon Ball FighterZ update 1.000.002 on current-gen platforms, and this is following the Rollback Netcode update released last week.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Update 1.000.002 Patch Notes:

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco hasn’t said anything about today’s patch just yet. If we had to hazard a guess, the patch should be for crash fixes, as multiple tech issues have surfaced following the Rollback Netcode patch.

Here are some of the issues that were reported by the community:

  • Crashing (Xbox, PC)
  • Freezing issues and shutting down
  • Purchased items appearing locked
  • Upgrade not appearing as free for some

Rollback net code crashes?

So far, Bandai Namco has not mentioned anything about the issues just yet, but we’re hoping this latest patch addresses these issues — especially the crashing ones as it renders the game literally unplayable.

Note that there is no crossplay support between the different platform, though the PC version does have an option to choose between rollback netcode and delay-based netcode which will affect matchmaking.

According to Bandai Namco, the rollback netcode system is also not compatible with some of the game modes in DBZ FighterZ. To be specific, the Circle Party match mode, which allows up to six players to particiapte in a single match, and the Party Battle mode that supports up to three players to play together against an enemy, are both limited to the delay-based netcode system. Bear this in mind, as these are not bugs but the limitations of the netcode.

If we hear or see anything official regarding this update, we’ll add it to the article. In other Dragon Ball news, we are saddened to report that Akira Toriyam, the creator of the Dragon Ball franchise, has passed away at the age of 68.
