Enotria: The Last Song Xbox Version Not Cancelled, Studio Clarifies in Apology Letter

Enotria: The Last Song Xbox Version

Just a few days ago, developer Jyamma Games announced the release date for Enotria: The Last Song (a new souls-like based on Italian folklore) for Aug. 21, and oddly enough, it’s only set to appear on PS5 and PC, which is something that didn’t go over well with the Xbox community.

Threads on Reddit and even Twitter have sparked discussion about the studio and the game.

The furor didn’t go unnoticed by the studio, as Jyamma Games has now issued a direct statement confirming that the Enotria: The Last Song Xbox version is not cancelled, and will be worked on once the PS5 and PC versions are released.

In a press release, Jyamma Games CEO Giacomo Greco released a statement explaining why they are releasing the PS5 and PC versions first.

“We are well aware that the news of the lack of presence on Xbox on day one is causing a lot of discussion on this issue and we want to clarify with this official statement some aspects of the matter. We have been discussing the release on all platforms at the same time for a long time, I am sorry to have communicated it only now, but it is a choice that has just been made few days ago, (the proof is by the fact that even FGS did not know), only after I was officially informed about that, making the release on all platforms would lead to a decrease in the overall quality of the product and a further delay of the same. I want you to know that the delay caused by the launch on the same date of one of our competitors gave us the opportunity to take more time to further improve the product, this led to raising the bar and , as CEO, i’m responsible for the final quality of the product. Having said that, I would never have allowed our game to come out discreetly on all platforms, I prefer the game to be perfect on 2 platforms rather than discreet on 3. When we release the game, we’ll also be working on the Xbox version, as well as the DLC, so we can also give the game to Microsoft users. The choice fell on ps5 rather than on Xbox simply because we have a relationship with our partners in Asia (SEGA) with whom we have agreements that we want to respect for them as a matter of respect. As you may all know, the Asian market is for a large part dominated by the PlayStation, so the PS5 was the logical choice. I want to point out, however, some things, Jyamma Games is an independent software house that has never been funded by anyone, including Microsoft, some accusations that have been made by some users are at the limit of the legal complaint about this issue.

I hope that now everything is clearer and that the Xbox community is not offended for a choice that was forced to make”

Well, there you have it, Xbox gamers! Enotria for Xbox is still coming, but you’ll just have to wait a bit longer for it.
