Every Character in Invincible VS Will Have Dialogue With Each Other, Even If It Didn’t Happen in the Comics
One of the coolest ongoing trends in fighting games is the character interactions that players witness before a fight begins. These often lead to some pretty memorable moments, with developers creating unique dialogue and exchanges between rivals and allies to add depth to the game’s lore and personality to its roster. Mortal Kombat is one such series that has continued this trend, and there are several others out there, so at this point, it’s nothing particularly unique.
Nonetheless, there’s good news for Invincible fans anticipating the upcoming 3v3 tag team fighter, Invincible VS, as the studio has confirmed that we can expect to see these types of interactions in the game.
Invincible Fans Can Look Forward to Their Favorite Characters Meeting for the First Time

Speaking to us during our hands-on with Invincible VS at gamescom this year, the studio, Quarter Up, spoke a bit about the character interactions that we’ll see in the game.
“Every character in the game has dialogue with every other character. So when you see the matchup, even if it didn’t happen in the comics, or in the movie (assume they meant show), they have interactions across the board. So it’s intros, responses, outros, clash moments, it’s all there.”
When we asked if taunting (which is in the game) would also provide unique dialogue between certain characters, the answer was sadly no. Understandable, considering it’s a fairly generic move, but it was worth asking anyway.
Now, for those worried that the dialogue would be the same ones repeated, the studio confirmed to us that they’ve recorded multiple lines of dialogue for each interaction in the game. Meaning there’s more than one intro and such for every matchup.
Part of the reason for this is that the studio recognizes there may be players who have never seen the show or read the comics, and the hope is that by adding personality to each character, they will encourage them to do so. If they could even get one person to go out and read the comics after playing their game, they would consider that a “win,” they tell us.
Invincible VS has no release date, but it is targeting a 2026 release window.
In other fighting game news, Street Fighter 6’s crossover event with Monster Hunter Wilds is now live on all platforms, and there’s a lot of new content to chew on.
