Announced at QuakeCon, the Fallout 76 next major update, “Expeditions: The Pitt” is launching on September 13 for all players. The upcoming expansion will allow players to leave Appalachia for the first time ever and revisit Fallout 3’s fan-loved location, The Pitt.

For the first time since Fallout 3, players are invited to journey back to post-war Pittsburgh. Radiation and destruction have warped the once-great industrial city, with citizens mutating into vicious Trogs and a power struggle emerging between the blue-collar Union faction and the Fanatics, a power-hungry band of Raiders. Build an alliance with the Union and learn their background, earning new weapons and armor as you build a reputation with the Raider-besieged faction. You may want some extra hands (and firepower) on your journey, so gather some friends and gear up – it’s almost time for an Expedition!
Expeditions are large repeatable missions in The Pitt that can be completed solo or with up to four players. Anyone can sign up for Expeditions and the mission will scale to your team’s overall player level. However, you should still come prepared and ready to ensure the best survival rate in The Pitt. Complete Expedition missions to earn experience, loot, and Stamps. Stamps are a new currency that can be exchanged for powerful and rare Expedition-based rewards.
The Pitt will feature two editions; the Standard Edition will be free for all players, but The Pitt Recruitment Edition Bundle is paid. The Recruitment Edition Bundle includes the Pittsburgh Neighbourhood C.A.M.P. Kit, Fanatic Paint for the 10mm SMG, Trog Plushie, Fanatic Power Armor Paint, and a Fusion Core Recharger.
Fallout 76 Expeditions: The Pitt was revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase earlier this year, and you can watch the Story Trailer for the expansion here. Expeditions: The Pitt will be a free expansion for players who own Fallout 76 across all platforms.
