EA has partnered up with Warner Bros to bring Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond in FIFA 23. Upon FIFA 23’s release, players would be able to take control over their favorite fictional club, AFC Richmond, and fictional character, Ted Lasso across multiple game modes including Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, and more. 

AFC Richmond kits, tifos, Manager items, and other content will be unlockable in FIFA Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs. Moreover, Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso will be available as a selectable Manager in FIFA 23’s Career Mode for all clubs. Players can also create their own Manager or select one of the real-world managers to run AFC Richmond.

In a press release, Jason Sudeikis said:

As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas. Our cast and crew work tremendously hard on this show, and we are flattered that it resonates with so many folks. We look forward to our fans having the opportunity to play with, play as, and even play against their favorite AFC Richmond characters.”

In Kick Off mode, players can take control over AFC Richmond under the “Rest of The World” league, and Richmond’s home stadium, Nelson Road will be made available in FIFA 23 as well. AFC Richmond’s squad will include Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas among others.
