FIFA Confirms It Will Develop Own Footie Game After EA Split, Says It Will “Remain the Best”

FIFA 22 Update 1.000.019

FIFA, the football governing body, has officially confirmed that they will be moving on in the gaming industry with a new game after Electronic Arts’ confirmation of EA Sports FC. In an agressive statement, the FIFA president himself states adamantly that the FIFA name will “remain forever and remain THE BEST.”

Here’s the statement from FIFA president Gianni Infantino following a report from the VGC:

“I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans. The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST.”

“The interactive gaming and esports sector is on a path of unrivalled growth and diversification. FIFA’s strategy is to ensure we can make the most of all future options and ensure a wide range of products and opportunities for gamers, fans, member associations and partners.”

Despite these strong statements, it’s worth noting that EA has still confirmed a FIFA release for later this fall, with 2023 the official start of its split from the branding as EA Sports FC launches. At this time, all eyes are on FIFA as players wonder which developer and publisher will manage to take the license for this prestigious yearly sports title.
