Final Fantasy 16 New Game+ Mode and Multiple Difficulty Options Confirmed

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 will feature a New Game+ mode and various difficulty options, including a story-focused mode with fewer and less-challenging enemies throughout your playthrough.

In an interview with Japanese publication, 4Gamer, Director Hiroshi Takai confirmed that after completing the game, players can play it again with abilities and equipment from their first playthrough unlocked. Moreover, the character’s level will also transfer to a new playthrough, but enemies will be adjusted according to your level and skills.

Final Fantasy 16 features a range of difficulty settings to make all players more comfortable. These settings include a “Story” focus difficulty, which makes combat easier, focusing more on the game’s story. Another difficulty option, called “Hardcore” will increase combat difficulty,

Square Enix has stated that more information about the title with a specific release date should come out by the end of this year. The Game Awards looks like the perfect stage for a release date announcement. Final Fantasy 16 is launching for the PS5 sometime in 2023.
