Flashback 2 Announced 30 Years After Original

Flashback is a classic side-scrolling platformer that was released in 1992. Now, 30 years later at Summer Game Fest, the developers at Delphine Software unveiled the new sequel, Flashback 2 with an extended look at the game’s gameplay.

Flashback 2 looks to continue the original’s legacy as a science fiction cinematic platformer. It picks up right where the original left off, just after the main character Conrad defeated the Master Brain. It sees him and his allies teaming up once again to face the alien species known as the Morphs, which are posing a threat to all galactic civilizations.

For fans of the first Flashback, Flashback 2 promises to take players to familiar locations, re-imagined with modern visuals, as well as expanding the world with brand new locations like Neo Tokyo. To help the game capture the spirit of the original, legendary developers from the first game like Paul Cuisset, Thierry Perreau, and Raphaël Gesqua are all returning, as well as having Oscar Isaac’s body double in Moon Knight, Jamel Blissat, joining the team to do full motion capture for Conrad.

Take a look at the teaser trailer below to see Flashback 2’s triumphant return in action.

Flashback 2 releases this winter for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S with a Nintendo Switch version releasing in 2023.
