Fortnite Down January 22

Epic Games pulled Fortnite servers down on January 22, affecting all platforms of the hit free-to-play game. Players will see patch v39.30 be released once maintenance starts, and this ushers in new content.

While the patch notes aren’t out yet, we do know that this update brings the Fall Guys crossover content into the game in the form of a new game mode.

For details on that and the server outage, read on.

Fortnite Servers Down on January 22 to Bring a New Game Update

The server outage starts at 4 am ET/1 am PT/5 pm HKT, and while it’s not specified how long it will take, it usually lasts for 2-3 hours on all platforms.

In terms of the update, this brings the limited-time Fortnite mode “Crown Jam,” from the Fall Guys world.

Per Epic Games, “Get ready to fall for a new 3v3 arcade sport when Fall Guys Crown Jam hits Fortnite. From January 23 to February 9, this isn’t the Fall Guys in Fortnite you’re used to — it’s all about getting slam dunks on the other team’s side of the arena. It’s basketball… meets football… meets obstacle course chaos.”

There are new rewards to earn for playing this mode such as the Less Fallin’ More Ballin’ Jam Track and Crown Ball Back Bling!

While we’re not expecting the downtime to last longer than 2-3 hours, if anything changes, we’ll let our readers know.

Stay tuned to the front page, as once the update is live, we’ll have it up with the official info and the datamined stuff too.
