Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Pre-load Goes Live One Week Ahead of Launch

Ghost of Tsushima Update 2.012

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut pre-load has began rolling out, prepping player’s for the release next week!

Weighing in at roughly 57.72GB, gamers who pre-ordered the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut from the PlayStation Store can now begin pre-loading the title on their console. To do this, all you have to do is visit either the PS Store on your phone via PlayStation App App or through the browser (PC works also) and locate the game to push the download remotely. Of course you can also do this from the PS5 or PS4 via the game library.

Do note that pre-loading for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut may not be live in every region. If it isn’t, expect it to be later in the day.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut includes:

  • Ghost of Tsushima full game
  • Iki Island expansion: New story, mini-games, enemy types and more*
  • Legends online co-op mode**
  • Downloadable content:
    • Digital mini art book
    • Director’s commentary
    • One Technique Point*
    • Charm of Hachiman’s Favor*
    • Hero of Tsushima Skin Set*
  • PS5 Features:
    • Dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60fps (requires compatible 4K TV or display)
    • DualSense™ wireless controller haptic feedback and adaptive trigger resistance
    • 3D Audio (with analog or USB stereo headphones)
    • Lip sync for Japanese voiceover
    • Ability to transfer PS4 saved progress to PS5 game

Now this is only for those who pre-ordered the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, as in the full paid version. For those who already own the original and plan on buying it through the $20/$30 upgrade path, you will need to wait for that version to go live in the digital store. It’s likely pre-loading will not be available for those opting for that option, meaning you will have to wait til release to download it.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be released on August 20 for the PS5 and PS4. If you haven’t already, be sure to read our Ghost of Tsushima review, which we rated a 9.5/10. It also was the overall winner of our Game of the Year 2020 award.

So pretty much no PS5 features worth the asking upgrade price of 30 quid. No raytracing, no improved textures, no other significant graphical features. Just basic PS5 port features more similar to lazy garbage like AC Valhalla’s PS5 version.]

Not buying it Sony, literally. Maybe 13 months after their last game, Sucker Punch should be announcing their next game already, not wasting time on this crap.

Um, the upgrade is $10 and the EXPANSION is $20. It is bundled because it is impossible to offer the expansion only, due to it requiring an overhaul of the base game as well so therefore everything together costs $30 for PS5. Don’t see an issue there tbh.
