God of War Ragnarok Will Feature a Transmog Armor System

It seems that Santa Monica is listening to fans, as God of War Ragnarok will feature one of the most requested features from God of War 2018, that being a transmog system for your armor.

As confirmed in a recent live voiced Q&A session on the official Santa Monica Studios Discord channel, God of War Ragnarok’s combat design lead, Mihir Sheth, confirmed that there would indeed be a transmog system this time around.

Q: Since we’re talking about armor. I like to look good, alright everyone at the studio knows this about me. Fashion first for Kratos, of course. I know one of the request for 2018 was the ability to maybe have the stats you want, but you know, give Kratos the runway look you want. So this is a question from SpiritWolf and a lot of other people; Will there be an armor transmog system?

Mihir Sheth: The short answer is yes. There is a way to do it…it’s there in the game.

This is fantastic news! For those unaware of what a transmog system is, it essentially allows you to keep the stats of a specific gear while also allowing it to look like another. That means no more having to wear an ugly armor set because the stats are better, as you can refashion it to look like one of the better-looking armor.

The studio didn’t elaborate further on how the transmog system works, though it won’t be long until we find out.

Speaking of finding things out, if you’re curious as what our final thoughts will be, be sure to check back here on November 3 when our full God of War Ragnarok review goes live!

God of War Ragnarok launches this November 9 on the PS4, PS5.
