When Hideki Kamiya announced his departure from PlatinumGames last month, it sparked questions regarding his future endeavors. However, in his newly created YouTube channel, Kamiya uploaded his first video, in which he assured his fans that he is not retiring, but he cannot work in the gaming industry for one year.

He explained that he left the company to pursue his dream as a developer to create something that resonates with him. He continued to say that once he is allowed to work in the gaming industry again, he will consider offers and choose what aligns with his vision, even humorously suggesting that he would accept any offers over ¥100 million.

During this one year period, he plans to focus on his YouTube channel, promising continuous video uploads. However, he insisted that these videos will have nothing to do with the video game industry.
