Playing the “World of Assassination” trilogy is set to become much simpler for Hitman fans. Developer IO Interactive has revealed that Hitman 3 will be renamed to “Hitman World of Assassination” on January 26. The new rebrand will grant players free access to content from the previous games, and will let players buy unowned DLC at reduced prices from the composite “World of Assassination Deluxe Pack.”

Currently, players can purchase Access Passes for Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 content to play through the entire trilogy within Hitman 3, or purchase the older games and relevant DLC individually. The “Hitman World of Assassination” rebrand will now include free access to the Hitman 1 (Game of the Year Edition) and Hitman 2 content, and the new “World of Assassination Deluxe Pack” will include all additional Hitman 3 and Hitman 2 DLC in a $30 purchase. Current owners of Hitman 3 will be upgraded to the World of Assassination edition for free.

The purchasing experience has been streamlined as follows:

  • HITMAN – World of Assassination (approx. $70 USD or local equivalent)
Includes: HITMAN 3, plus H1 GOTY Access Pass and H2 Standard Access Pass.
  • HITMAN – World of Assassination Deluxe Pack (approx. $30 USD or local equivalent)
Includes: H3 Deluxe Pack, H3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection and H2 Expansion Access Pass.

While the three “World of Assassination Deluxe Pack” DLC packs can no longer be purchased individually, all three are priced evenly ($10 each), and players purchasing through Steam will only have to pay the cost of the unowned packs should they wish to buy the new composite package. On other platforms, the individual DLCs will be added to the in-game store, with the same “even split” pricing policy. Additionally, the standalone Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 purchases will be removed from all platform stores.

The “Hitman World of Assassination” rebrand goes live on January 26 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch (Cloud), along with the new Freelancer game mode. Let us know what you think about the change in the comments.
