Hogwarts Legacy Cut Content Contains Reputation, Morality System and More

To many, Hogwarts Legacy is a pretty solid game in its own right, with tons to do and lots of places to explore. But according to the game’s files, there may have been even more content that was originally planned for the wizard game. Hogwarts Legacy’s cut content apparently contains references to various spells, a reputation system, and morality-based features that would have added even more immersion to the game.

Last April, a YouTuber named GrandTheftDiamonds revealed various data from Hogwarts Legacy, showing off some cut or unused content that still remained in the game’s files. You can watch the full video below:

A Reddit post by user IamWatchingAoT summarized some of the content that was referenced in the game files. This included a morality and reputation system that would add consequences to you casting certain spells, such as Avada Kedavra, Imperio, and more. Some players felt a lack of immersion due to there being no ramifications to casting forbidden spells within Hogwarts. A system such as this could instead give players powerful spells whilst keeping in mind to use them only when appropriate.

Other game files also hinted at more ways to enjoy your school life at Hogwarts. You could choose what type of student you wanted to be, commit crimes, protect students from bullies or act as one yourself, or even engage in social activities such as gossiping or drinking. This added a morality system in the game where you could choose how good (or bad) you wanted to be. There were also references to various spells like Aguamenti, Accio Maxima, and the Bat Bogeys curse.

Whether Portkey Games will add these features into the game in the future is up in the air, but it’s always interesting to see what the devs originally had in mind for the game during development.
